Source : HitachiHitachi retakes the lead by announcing its new high performances hard disk for portable computers.
As its name indicates, the Travelstar 7K320 will spin at 7200 rpm and will have a maximum capacity of 320 GB. According to Hitachi, it will not consume more than a disk running at 5400 rpm, but will be 22% more performant than the preceding generation while consuming 12% less power.
It is announced to have a maximum 12 ms and seems quiet, with 28 dB.
It is in the course of marketing and will be supplied only with a SATA interface.
