Or is it more of a subgenre? In its simplest form, the genre consists of a player strategically laying out a series of defensive towers in order to prevent enemy units from reaching their goal. That’s it. It’s a tiny piece of existing strategy games like Warcraft. This new subgenre merely strips out any additional gameplay.
