April 3, 2008 2:20 PMInside Mac Games is pleased to announce that our official review of Rain Design's mStand notebook stand is up and ready for your reading enjoyment. Here's a clip from the review: Enter the Rain Design mStand. Carved out of a single block of aluminum, sand blasted, and then silver anodized, the mStand looks and feels like it came straight out of Jonathan Ive's secret workshop (or a ream-sized paper clamp factory from the year 3029). Although the specifications of the mStand indicate that it was designed specifically to complement Apple's widescreen laptops, our testing indicates that nearly anything smaller than Alienware's monstrous Area-51 m9750 should fit quite nicely. However, if you were to buy a mStand for a non-Apple product, you'd be missing half of the reasons why the mStand blows the competition out of the water (more on that later).Believe it or not, we found that this stand acts as a rather large heatsink, allowing your MacBook or MacBook Pro to stay cooler longer. To put it bluntly, lower heat equals higher performance. As strange as it sounds, Mac performance enthusiasts may want to add the mStand to their lists of hardware upgrades, right alongside faster hard drives and additional RAM.
