A reader yesterday mentioned after seeing some issues with the recent updates he wanted to reapply the 10.5.2 Combo Update (from download updater) but the installer script reported the volume did not meet the requirements. After getting another report on this same issue from a friend this morning I decided to try it on my (fully current) 10.5.2 install on my AL iMac and I see the same thing here (AL iMac w/10.5.2 and all latest updates applied). See notes in posts here - the culprit is the recent Airport/TM 1.0 Update which modified the kernel (and build number) which is checked by the Combo Updater (pre-install script).
