A reader sent a note that Apple's cut prices on their Refurbished (previous model) Mac Pros at the Apple store. I'm not sure how many they have but as of 10AM they still had a listing for 3GHz 8-core Mac Pro for $2499. (as of 3PM they were sold out of the 8-cores.) Of course the new model 8-core 2.8GHz is only $300 more (w/1GB more base ram and slightly larger base HD) with faster memory, HarperTown CPUs with larger cache, PCI express 2.0, etc... I'd chose the newer model. (Hopefully the issues some have seen with the new model will be addressed in an update.)
