Hitachi intros 500GB Notebook Drive (unfortunately too tall for many notebooks)

The Travelstar 5K500 uses 3 platters and is therefore 12.5mm high. 9.5mm is the max drive height for many current laptops, including the MacBook and MacBook Pros (and also previous AL Powerbook G4s). Not sure if 12.5mm high drives fit in the Mac Mini. Per the article, Hitachi seems confident PC makers will allow for the taller drive in future designs.
