Asking for feedback from Mac owners using PCI SATA cards with SATA DVD Burners (or other Optical drives) without any problems. (Although it's also worthwhile write with info on cards/drives that didn't work.) Earlier posts on this subject already noted the lack of Optical drive support with some SATA cards (including some Firmtek and sonnet/rebranded models) and previous "OK" reports didn't note a brand/model of card. (A reader last month said he was using a Silicon Image SiI 3124 chip-based card (non bootable IIRC) and a July 2007 drive database entry from a G4 tower owner mentioned he was using a Pioneer SATA DVD burner with a PCI SATA card but didn't mention the controller card brand/model. I wrote to ask for that info...)
