Info on MacBook Memory Limits (notes/benchmarks on 3GB and more) |

Although Apple still lists 2GB (2x1GB) as max memory for even the latest MacBooks,
some 3rd party pages list 3GB kits (1GB+2GB) and one even 4GB as max for the latest 2007 Macbooks.
A Nov. 2006 Macbook (Core2 Duo) owner wrote about using 3GB in his MacBook, saying ASP and Activity Monitor show 3GB total installed, but there only appears to be 2GB usable. I've included info and links to Apple Macbook developer notes and RAM expansion developer notes on MacBook ram limits, which still list 2GB (2x1GB) max. I've written to sponsors for their feedback on this as well - OWC replied with notes on 3GB ram use in Core2 Duo MacBook models and coments on 4GB (2x2GB) not being fully usable. (Updated with more notes, link to previous OWC page with benchmarks on MacBooks with various amounts of RAM. Also updated with Transintl's comments, they have now corrected their page to show even the 2007 Macbooks as 2GB max, deciding to follow Apple's recommendations.)
