Yesterday's MacBook line update appeared to be just faster CPUs, 1GB RAM standard (was 512MB) and larger hard drives, not any changes to the motherboard/chipset (same FSB, same GMA 950 graphics, etc.) and PCW has an article today saying the MacBook Refresh Doesn't Have 'Santa Rosa'. (Intel's new Centrino "Santa Rosa" was a hot topic last week - see "Centrino Duo (aka Santa Rosa) explained" and "Intel's new Centrino for work and play") But they also have an article titled "Apple Celebrates Market Share with New MacBooks", saying "The black $1,499 MacBook is enormously popular among professionals, despite lousy 3-D graphics performance, a much smaller display and a non-traditional keyboard".
